All, As I look at a map of the peninsula, and recall that Simonstown was a winter port for shelter from the prevailing North wind, I have to ask: Does Hout Bay not fit the bill? It is half the distance from Cape Town, and seems to be sheltered. Is the harbour too shallow? Was the overland journey to Cape Town more arduous than that from Simonstown? Keith
