Hi All, I have been asked to help a friend of mine to research the ASHBURNER family and have discovered that his grandfather Harry John ASHBURNER was married to a Rosina HARRISON who I think could be the person listed below as having an estate file in the Cape Archives: DEPOT KAB SOURCE MOOC TYPE LEER VOLUME_NO 6/9/22771 SYSTEM 01 REFERENCE 3758/54 PART 1 DESCRIPTION ALPER, ROSINA ELLEN. NEE HARRISON. ESTATE PAPERS. STARTING 19540000 ENDING 19540000 I cannot find an estate file for Harry John ASHBURNER and perhaps this estate file, although it doesn't mention the name ASHBURNER, may provide more clues. Dear Con, I have a family tree on the Ashburners. It may be of some help to you. My great gran was Mabel Ashburner so I do have a bit of info on them. Hi Con I see there was a Major Ashburner in Kimberley in 1902. He could have been connected to the Cape Mounted Police. Contact the Kimberley Africa Library Africana@solplaatje.org.za They should have some info on him.
