Hello again listers, I have found NAAIRS doc that says ; Description ex Parte application, Charles Edward Erasmus Starting 1963 Ending 1963 I may be clutching at straws as I have no other information about him other than his parents were Theunis Theodore Erasmus and Golda Sally Woolf. Sally and Theunis were married in Barberton 1884 so I surmise he must have been born after that. His siblings were Edmund Theodore(1895 1948) Isabel and Alice. Can anyone please tell me what ex parte application means? Dee

    3. Hello Dee, ex-parte = from one side only. It's a legal expression which means literally 'from a party', applied to a proceeding in which only one side of the case is presented, and the opposing side is absent. 3. And, yes. These records are a notice posted as part of the estate (probate). The address is the place of residence, not necessarily the place of death. The detailed records will be at the Master's (of the Supreme Court) Office. They will include the will, a list of heirs, etc. ... Not being familiar with South African records, can someone explain to me what each of the lines means, and if there is more info available, how I can access it - bearing in mind that I'm in France? The notations in square brackets are mine. 3049/2000 [2000 = year of death?] Morton Edward 03 May '22 (DOB) [date of birth] 20 St. Blaize [20 St Blaize Way?] Nerina Durbanville 7550 (Bellville).-ABSA Trust Beperk (Registrasie Nommer 01/04665/06) Posbus 1032 Sanlamhof 7532. 1ste Vloer Sanbel Gebou Ou Paarlweg Nr. 2 (Bellville Morton Edward There was also another record which was almost the same: 3049/2000 Morton Edward 22-05-03 03 May '22 (DOB) 20 St Blaize Nerina Durbanville 7550 2000-03-04. ABSA Trust Bpk. [2000-03-04 = date of death?] Posbus 1032 Sanlamhof 7532. Morton Edward I managed to find Nerina, Durbanville on Ananzi Maps, and there is a 20 St Blaize Way. In itself, it's interesting because he was known to be living and working in Johannesburg in the late 1950s / early 1960s, but it's not known when he moved. Thanks for any advice you can offer...
