Hi, Nolene. "Overberg Origins" was published in 1988. It says it "aims to record the stamvaders and descendants of those families in this old town who were not included by C.C. de Villiers in his genealogical classic ..." Here is a list of the families included in "Overberg Origins": Barry Burrows Carncross Devenish Emett Hodgson Hopley Kennedy Moodie Reid Reitz Robertson Schreiner Sutton Tilney Whyte It looks like we do not have any of your people. Colleen, There are lots of matches for the names you asked about. You really should try to find a copy of the book to look at yourself. It should be on the shelf at Protea Boekhuis (Pretoria, Stellenbosch, ...). I paid R 395 earlier this year. While you're at it, B. Cilliers "Genealogiee van die Afrikaner Families in Natal" is also worth looking at. I think I got my copy at Protea. Hard to believe, it cost R160. Hi Darryl, I used to run a web site for the Rudman clan. If you are researching the whole Rudman clan, and not just your own Rudman ancestors, please contact me. Email me at Greeff@Greeff.info or Skype me, or email your LANDLINE number to me and I will phone you. Darryl and Moyra: The RUDMAN family was researched by Janet Melville, and published in 1980. Janet was at the University of Port Elizabeth, but she may have retired. Anyway, Janet also contributed her RUDMAN research to SA Genealogies 10 (2004) where the information seems to be more complete. Charle Henry RUDMAN is on p. 246 of SA Genealogies 10. A son appears to have lived in Rhodesia / Zimbabwe, and there are two daughters. I will send photos of the relevant pages. Clarice Beatrix RUDMAN is on p. 249 of SAG 10. She married Mark WADE, divorced, and remarried Ronald WOOD. Her children are listed in the RUDMAN book. Again, I will send photos. Dear Kieth. I would be very interested in the Scrutton Family of Swellendam. Joseph Scrutton and his son Frederick von Blucher Scrutton. I wonder if they are mentioned in The English-Speaking Swellendam Families.
