    1. Re: [SOUTH-AFRICA] SOUTH-AFRICA Digest, Vol 9, Issue 64
    2. bill weidner
    3. Bill Weidner writing from Creswick Australia. Should anyone be interested I have a strip of photographs of Knights Deep Lead Mine Johannesburg (undated) but with notations of all the buildings and areas. It was rolled up in a cylinder in my grandmother's small photo collection. I believe my grandfather may have been employed there at some time between 1896 and 1907. There are also a few other photos of workers at a mining site, but with no notations. If anyone would like those photos sent by email I'd be happy to provide them. They are of high quality resolution. 3. Subject: Fortuin/James Hi Listers My 2 x great grandfather Francis William James had a younger brother Valentine Sebastian James, born in Darling 23 January 1859. When Valentine's first wife died, he married a second time to Gusea Aletta Kirsten and had a son William Henry James born 12 December 1904 in Cape and died 23 May 1955 in Cape Town. Also a daughter Sarah Jane James born 1906 William Henry James married Helena D Fortuin 1911 - 2002; she died in Fish Hoek. I think they had a daughter. Helena D Fortuin's parents were Peter Fortuin and Johanna van Blerk. Any information about this family would be most helpful and certainly making contact with living descendents would be wonderful.
