Hello For those of you doing research on the line of John Soloman who married Rebecca Sturdivant I know Mrs. Scott's History of Henry County Alabama gives 22/Jun/1862 as the date of William Lazarus's death, which I believe to be incorrect. His Confederate Service Record on microfilm at my State Archives shows him alive in 1865. He was discharged from the Service with the rank of Captain of Company H 39th Alabama Infantry. Also Martha Soloman's widow's pension gives 1870 as his date of death. He was wounded in battle, and died five years after the war in 1870. He married Martha Sholar (1839-1908) in 1857. Their children were Mary Clayton (1859-1925), James M. (1861-1923) and William Lazarus II (1863-1935). He was born in February of 1863 and his father according to the book died in Jun.1862, which is only eight months. So that could not be right. That is the lenght of time I go to the dentist. So he died probably 22/Jun/1870. Le
