(Note from Nieca - The present Clerk of Court explained that since there were no public works in that time, private citizens were assigned at various times to create and/or maintain roadways and rivers. The citizen could hire someone to do the work, send a slave or perform the task himself.) August 2, 1810 - WILLIS SOLOMON. Legatee was NANCY SOLOMON. Executors were Evans Andress and Nancy Solomon. Witnesses were William Cawthorn, Sr., Ashley Cawthorn and Reddin Stringer. Will probated Sept. 3, 1810. September 1810 - WILLIS SOLOMON. Last will and testament of Willis Solomon proved in Open court. Court ordered testamentary letters be given to executors named in will. September 15, 1810 - WILLIS SOLOMON. Itemized inventory of the Solomon estate as prepared by appraisers W. Cawthon, Sr., Benjamin Faircloth and Harmon Neel. September 1813 - WILLIS SOLOMON. Exum Anders, executor of the estate of Solomon, rendered expenditures of $66.15. September 1813 - WILLIS SOLOMON. Estate received monies from JAMES SOLOMON, Henry Land, Willey Whitley, William Brumley and Thomas Eaton. Monies paid to WILLIS SOLOMON, Sius Taylor, Willey Whitley, JAMES SOLOMON, Leodica Darsey, Abigail Faircloth, 1808 & 1809 taxes, MARY SOLOMON, Zacariah Price, Amos Love, Joseph Denson, Evans Anders, and Charles Burch. November 1,, 1817 - Wiley Whitley of Laurens County sold to Isaac Boyd of Laurens County. 18th L.D., L.L. #109 $200.00 Witnesses: Mathew Tucker and JAMES SOLOMON November 20, 1817 - LAZARUS SOLOMON. HENRY SOLOMON, tax collector from Twiggs County sold to Lazarus Solomon and James Batey. 22nd L.D., L. L.. #258. $7.50. This sale was to satisfy taxes of William Snelgrove. Witnesses K.W. Hargrove and Justice of Peach L. P. Hargrove. March 8, 1819 - JAMES SOLOMON. Named eligible from Capt. Leroy G. Harris District. March 8, 1819 - MARY SOLLOMAN. Named eligible from Capt. Leroy G. Harris District. March 1820 - Petit Jury next term jurors -- John Davis, Lewis B. Jernigan, Job Cobb, ........... JAMES SOLOMON ........ Eli Hutto James Albritton, William Montford. September 1820 - Petit Jury #2 -- Reason Spell, John Barlow, William Carson, Daniel Lawson, Eli Hutto, Mark Snellgrove, JAMES SOLOMON, Thomas Usery, Mathew Tucker, Samuel Hammock, Henry Albritton and John Dean. May 1824 - HENRY SOLOMON. Plaintiff was Solomon. Defendant was Tom Peter Chaires. Settled and costs paid says Col. Holt. March 1828 - Court case involving B. Smith; JAMES SOLOMON listed among participants. (Note from Nieca - This appears to relate to the inventory and handling of the estate of Benjamin Smith and involved the assets and liabilities of a mercantile store.)
