There was a Solomon on St Helena Island. They apparently stopped there on the way from England because one of them was ill. This Solomon eventually became an Anglican minister on the Island. I dont know if they were practising Jews originally but I think they were certainly jewish Solomons. Apparently they were merchants in England. 2. Then, there is the Solomons from Cape Town. i.e. Saul Solomon who was an advocate and defended black people in parliament I think. One of his relatives was Daisy Solomon. There is a book written about Saul Solomon. These people are my fathers paternal relatives. My dad was Alec Solomon and his dad was Alec Solomon and they lived for a while at Aviston, Mellville Road Plumstead in the Cape. My dad was born there. Am trying to trace the jewishness of the family. i.e the jewish connections. from Carol Luyt (nee Solomon) from Carol Luyt (nee Solomon)
