It's quite a bit of stuff. I know he was born in NC from Census info., but it looks like he was born closer to 1798 than 1792. You can probably get to my information by going directly to http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnsumner/fawisol.htm I have a list of about 48 lawsuites that his family brought over their years in Sumner Co., but I haven't written to the County museum to find out how much each copy would cost yet. They are suppose to contain all sorts of wills, marriage proofs and such. Everytime somebody in the family died, everybody in the family would sue each other. That's what happens when you have a family full of lawyers and judges ;-) I'm sure it would provide all sorts of information on who William's ancestors are. I'm being lazy. They must of been related somehow, they both come from NC around the same time and they both married women named Smith. Your Susan Smith didn't happen to have a brother or father named Perrin Smith married to a Susanna did she? :-) Robbie Robinson

    3. Hi Solomon researchers, I'd like to throw a William and Frances Solomon into the pot. My William was born Franklin Co., NC 8 Feb 1801. He was the son of Bennett Solomon and Ava McGregor. I think Bennett died in Montgomery Co., NC, but his family along with his brothers Goodwin, Jordan and William came on to TN. I don't have anything on William except that he married a Frances. William (mine) settled in Lincoln Co., TN. Jordan being a Baptist Preacher, was all over TN. Ava McGregor Solomon was buried in Warren Co., TN. I'm not sure of Goodwin, but their was a Goodwin Solomon in Granger Co. that was the right age to be a possible son. In 1820 the Solomons listed as head of household were Jordan, and William in Lincoln Co. Oston (Alston) in Bedford Co. and Samuel in Robertson Co. Alston is thought to be a cousin to the above mentioned brothers and father to Samuel. In 1830 William Solomon of Sumner Co. shows up as a head of household. Can he be the son of Bennett?
