    3. William and Diana Gordon Solomon of Franklin Co., NC had sons that immigrated to TN. Via Montgomery Co., NC. A son William settled in Lincoln Co., TN, a son Goodwin may be the Goodwin found in Grainger Co., TN. A son Jordan is found all over Tn, due to (I think) being a Baptist Preacher. A son Bennett may have died in Montgomery Co., NC, but most of his family settled in Warren Co., TN. Below is what I have on the family of Bennett. My question is his son William that married a Frances. I find no other evidence of this couple in TN. Is this William possibly the William Solomon found in Muhlenberg Co., KY that married Frances A. Smith? Any input appreciated. 1. Bennett SOLOMON (b.28 Apr 1773-,Franklin Co.,NC;d.Bef 1818-,Montgomery Co.,NC?) sp: Ava MCGREGOR (b.20 Sep 1778-,,NC;d.5 Oct 1855-,Warren Co.,TN) 2. 3. This will help you in your question on the William Solomon and Frances A. Smith that married in Muhlenberg Co., Ky. I'm descended from this couple. Francis A. Smith is the daughter of Perrin and Susanna Smith. She was born 9 Sept 1804, most likely in Sumner Co., TN. There is a sister of her's named Elizabeth "Betsy" Smith that married a Daniel S. Willis in Sumner Co., TN in 1809. Then the rest of the Smith family appeared in the 1810 Census in Muhlenberg Co., KY. In the 1820 Census there, Perrin had died and the widow Susanna was living next door to an Aaron Solomon. I have no proof right now that Arron was William's father, but there was a son of the correct age living with him and I am ordering some copies of Solomon lawsuits over inheritances that may clear it up soon. William married Frances on 2 Nov 1820 and their first son, Perrin L. Smith was born in Kentucky in 1822. All of their children after that were born in Gallatin, Sumner Co., TN. William Solomon was the Mayor of Gallatin, the county seat, in 1840 and 1846-7 and a merchant, his son Perrin was a major in the War with Mexico and U.S. Marshall in San Francisco, his son William Huston Solomon was a lawyer, his daughter Mary was the wife of General Wesley W. Pepper who was in the State legislature and a judge, his daughter Julia married Joakim "Joe" Green a merchant in Robertson Co., TN (my ancestors). Several of his grandchildren were were lawyers or married lawyers. The result was that there are 43 Solomon lawsuites, mostly regarding inheritances, among the Loose Records of Sumner County at the Sumner County Archives. I'm ordering 5 of the lawsuits that look the most informative and hope they give William Solomon's parents and siblings. His will, which isn't located in any other archives or books is included it . I suspect several of the Solomons in Tennessee may be relatives of his. But....WOW! The first lawsuit is 186 pages :-) There are 259 pages in just those first 5. There is bound to be something interesting in there. Only problem is that the total cost of just the 5 is $147. :-p I will post whatever Solomon information I glean from this lawsuit novel when I get it and finish reading it all.
