NC. m. 1787/8 in Nash Co. NC to Elisabeth Bedgood (2nd wife). Died 4/20/1833 or 4/4/1837 Jeffersonville, Wilkenson Co., Ga. Father was Peter Solomon poss. born 1735, poss. in England, if not in colonies. Elizabeth Bedgood b. 1767 Halifax Dist, Washington Co. NC. d. 3 Feb, 1826, Ga 1st wife: Sallie Holland, b. 1770 From a memorandum book of Lazarus's son John--"Elisabeth Solomon had her leg cut off Oct. 11th 1814" She survived as she had her fourteenth child in 1817. We have quite a bit of info from the John Solomon books and subsequent writings of his grandson, John Wesley Solomon. Of note is the following. "My father(John Wesley Solomon) said that Lazarus Solomon was a Jew, But I think there is a possibility that he was not a full blooded Jew. However, am not certain as to this. I am descended from James Solomon born 1770 in Virginia.I have info that says he was living in Washington co. Ga, in 1799 when he bought 10 acres of land in Montgomery co. which he deeded to his brother Lazarus in 1801. I am very interested in finding the parents of James.
