    1. Descendants of John Wesley Soloman and Elizabeth Covington
    2. Le Bateman
    3. Hello This is an address to those on the list who are direct descendants of John Wesley Soloman and Elizabeth Jane Covington. I have the names of the Covington line going back to 1628 with Nehemiah Covington, if there is anyone intersted. One thing of interest. Brig.-Gen. Leonard Wailles Covington who gave his name to Covington County, was from this family. Contact me at LeBateman@NetZero.Net Le Bateman Montgomery Alabama. Alabama.

    3. Hi Folks, I feel pretty sure this is the Solomon family that went on to Guilford Co., NC and later to KY, IL, and IN. Elizabeth Rhodes could very well have been a second wife of James Jr. I have seen this James listed as James Senathan Solomon and I have a query submitted by him when William Jr.'s Estate was settled. I will look it up and send it to the list later. There is a very good possiblity that the John that lived in Edgecomb Co., Franklin Co., and later Northhampton Co. was the son of Lewis Jr. due to the fact of his neighbors being of this group. 3. Nieca, This is my problem with my James Solomon of Indiana and Guilford County NC. He married Elizabeth Rhodes in 1825. I think the only thing that will tell us for sure is the bill of sale for the property James Jr. sold from his fathers estate. I have someone in Franklin County checking now to see if his wife signed the actual bill of sale. Im a little new at this business but I remember seeing several messages saying that the wife had to sign a sale like this???? Hope it tells us something. 3. Hi all, For the people researching Alston Solomon a possible clue: John Henry Burges(s) and Martha Alston Burges lived in VA where he was a Paster. He performed the marriage ceremony for George Solomon and Lucy Emery in VA. 1786. The burges' daughter Mary Melissa Burges married Josiah Bridges Solomon in NC 1849. Could this connection be where Alston Solomon b. NC got his name? Harold

I have had nothing but trouble with AOL I have been online all day today with no problems. I have been in touch with Linda Whorton and Matt Lipford. I believe matt's wife Georgia is descended from Henry Land the son of John and Delilah Land. Linda is descended from one of John's brothers so she is collateral. Did anyone get the post I made which listed the Solomons in the CSA Army. I got that from one of my friend's on the ACWGREY-List. God Bless You'll. Bless You'll.=20

    3. Martha, I suspect that the father of my James is James Sr. of Franklin county North Carolina. I sent the following request to someone in Franklin County Am trying to get copies of some deeds and was wondering if you would be able to do it for me. Following is what I need April 13 1822: James Solomon Sr and James Solomon Jr joint bill of sale. Jan 8 1828: James Solomon deed to Gideon Bass of Nash Co. for his interest in both real and personal property formerly belonging to his father James Solomon deceased. April 23 1834: Elizabeth Solomon widow of James Solomon, bill of sale. The second item dated Jan 8, 1828 would be especially interesting if it has the signature of his wife. As you can tell by my page my James was married to Elizabeth Rhodes of Guilford County North Carolina. If Elizabeth's signature is on this item then I believe we'll have sufficient proof. Hope someone can help me solve this puzzle. It is the last link I need to the early Solomons. George

    3. Greetings to all our members, Anyone interested in the descendants of JAMES SOLOMON b. 1801, really should take a look at George's page http://www.angelfire.com/ks/gdrennon Geoge has made this page fast loading and very easy to use and read. Good job...8-) The list has not been very busy, but many have been sharing information personally. I would like to request that if you share research on any of your Solomon lines with others that you also post this information to the list. You just may be able to help another person. I will also begin posting my responses to questions to the list when I receive questions from others. I do appreciate the fact that each of you have only posted genealogy research and family items to the list. It was my original goal to keep this list dedicated to genealogy research only and NOT get into poems, etc. A big thanks to each of you for doing this. Several people have commented that our list is one of the best. Hats off to each of our members..... Please post your family lines as frequently as desired, since we often gain new members. I would like to request that you post any web site with any Solomon information to the list. Would someone post the Solomon - Worth site's URL? Thanks, Martha Wooten Solomon List Owner
