James, Elisha, and ELizabeth Land are children of John Land Jr., and Delilah Soloman. James married Lucretia Faulk the daughter of Mark Faulk Sr. I do not have any information on the other ones. If anyone on the list might be doing research on Elisha and Elizabeth's family, please email me LeBateman@NetZero.Net. or write me Jacob L. Bateman III 3870 Strathmore Drive Montgomery Alabama 36116-4614. Thank you
Delilah married second Freeman Finch 1821. Freeman was the son of Claiborne Finch and Sarah Hunt. The Finch's hailed from the Tar River Region of Nash County North Carolina. They had four children. William C. Finch 1822-1857 m.Sarah Louise could be Louise Sarah. Wm. C. Finch 1848-1849 Wm. F. Finch III 1852-1855 Willie D. Finch 1856 William F. Finch Jr. 1828-1848 Floyd FInch 1829-1857 m: Mary Ann Finch m: Land Floyd's wife was named Mary Ann (1828-1897) she is buried at Jeffersonville City Cemetery. William Freeman Finch 1862-1910 is also buried there perhaps this is Floyd's child along with B.F. Finch. This is what Scott Warran gave to me. So I am not sure whether these are right or not I believe they are.

Elizabeth Land 10/Jun/1813 I am not certain about the dates on these so I am going to have to contact Linda Whorton about them. And I when I hear from her I will send the correct dates to the list. She is not directly descended from John Land Jr., but his brother William. I have these in the order they were sent to me, so I posted them as is. I will have to contact Linda. Delilah's second husband Freeman Finch (1791-1848) is next. She died in Twiggs County 25/Feb/1875.
Hi I have not seen any post on the list lately, so I was wondering if it was dead. I am still looking for information on Carah Soloman and his wife Ann Fulton. For those of you who might have tried my AOL address I do not have that anymore. My address is LeBateman@NetZero.Net. And I also have a Juno address lebateman1@juno.com but I rarely use that one except on occasions. Sincerely Le Bateman
Forwarding this inquiry....please respond to the list. Hopefully, we can assist others with all spellings of our surname. Martha > John M. Avers wrote: > I am brand newbie to this list, and may not belong. But the Rootsweb site did say SOLOMON and variations. My grandmother was Magadalena Nancy SOLLMON born about 1873 in Sandusky County, Ohio. She married Ludwig (Louis) Friederich (Frederick) EVERS (AVERS) in 1894 at SOLOMON Lutheran Church, Woodville, Ohio. Her sister Mary SOLLMON married Louis Frederick's brother, Henry AVERS. Her father Lewis was listed in the 1850 census of Washington Township, Sandusky County, Ohio, under the names SOLLMAN, SULLMAN, ZOLLMAN. His father is listed there as Henry SOLLMON, age 50. I have not confirmed this, but it is believed Henry was born in Hannover, Germany. "john avers" <johna@whitecmh.org

Hello, I recently received a request for information on African Americans, who may have worked for the Solomon family or were slaves. In the past, I think there was a will for one of the Solomon family members that listed slaves. Please post any information you have on this to the list. Perhaps, we can help others with their research. Thanks, Martha Wooten Solomon List Owner/Host

Hi, I am researching the Wright/Williamson and Solomon families that lived in Monroe County, Alabama.. Mariah Solomon, daughter of John G. Solomon, married John Washington Williamson. I would like to hear from anyone who is researching these families. Thank you. Freda Freda and Ted Noble tnoble@mcn.org
Hi, it's great to be getting Solomon mail again. It's been awhile, so here is my Solomon family. I would like very much to hear from anyone who is researching this family. Several very kind researchers have shared their info with me, so I have info on my great- great-great-grandfather's family which I too am happy to share. John G. Solomon, b. 1797, died 1863. He moved from S.Carolina to Monroe County, Alabama. He married Sarah (Godbold). (Sarah's maiden name still has to be proven.) Their children were: Robert, Tobias, Mary Carolina, Eliza Ann (my great-grandmother), Sarah, John Abraham, Mariah, Ellen Eliza, Leonard Jordan, William T., and Levi D. Eliza Ann married John W. Wright and Mariah married John Williamson. I have data on the Wright and Williamson families, too. Freda Roberson Noble Freda and Ted Noble tnoble@mcn.org
Here's another request I received. Hope someone can help Anita. Yes I think there is a better than average chance our Solomons are related. I am hoping to find more info. My grandma is still alive but old age has taken her memory. So what I have listed on my website is all the info anyone in my family could come up with. I do think she had cousins in Hugo?? sounds familiar and I did go with her and my dad to see her cousins in Pauls Valley, OK. I don't have any knowledge of any Solomon cousins, my grandma didn't talk much about them and my dad didn't seem to know many either. I do know that she grew up jewish, but once WWI and II came around she didn't let anyone know her heritage for fear of jewish racism and harm coming to the family, my dad was raised baptist. I know this because my dad had told me this back in 1993 a year before he died, we got into family heritage and I asked about the Solomon line and that is all he could tell me about it and that the Solomon's had lived all over from Ohio to PA to TN to MO to TX to OK and immigrated supposedly from Belgium to the US. When I don't know. I haven't got past OK yet. hahaha.. So you see I have a long way to go. Thank you for your help. I will look at your website further to see if my mom or an aunt (sister of my dad) can recall anything about the Solomon's. I'll keep in touch. sincerely, Anita Anita's Genealogy Homepage: www.angelfire.com/tn/anitasue

I've subscribed to the list several months ago and there was several postings everyday for about 6 weeks. Then I posted a message and after that there was hardly anything, then nothing for about 6 weeks till now. I'll try again: I'm looking for information on a Lavester J. Solomon and John Solomon listed in the Surry Co., NC 1820 census. They were next found in VA 1830 census in Scott Co. along with Sells Solomon, Wesley Solomon and in the adjoining county of Washington is William J. Solomon and Sampson Solomon. In the 1840 Ohio census most of these same men were found close together. Then Lavester and John disappeared but Sampson and Wesley along with my GGGrandfather Leveter Johnson Solomon were found together in IN in 1850. We think John could be Johnson's father because he was born in 1822 and in the 1820 census John had a son between 5 and 10 years old. Lavester could be the father of John. I would like to know if anyone has information on these two men's children and who they were married to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Don I've seen Leveter spelled several different ways.
Hi. Yes, I think it is a first for me aswell. I was wondering if this was active or not. So here I go. I am seeking information on James Solomon of Oklahoma, moved there early 1900's from Texas. James married 4 times his first wife Daisy Sellers died shortly after my grandma was born, he married 3 more times and had 3 more kids only by the 4th wife. My grandma is Wilma "Willie" Irene Solomon b. Marlow, OK married Elmer Hollis Roach b.Comanche, OK. My Solomon and Roach lineage are listed on my homepage for further info to share and compare. I do know that in the early 1940's that my grandparents left Marlow, OK with Solomon and Roach family members, cousins, and siblings and ended up in LaVerne, CA where my dad attended Pomona High. Any help would be wonderful. sincerely, Anita Anita's Genealogy Homepage: www.angelfire.com/tn/anitasue

I was at the Dallas library today and this is what I found on Peter M. SOLOMON, the son of Rev. Lewis SOLOMON and Lucy Ann LINGO. Also the grandson of Lazarus SOLOMON and Elizabeth BEDGOOD. Rose Jones Dodge County Newspaper Clippings Volume II 1893-1907 Friday, December 24, 1897 KILLING AT COCHRAN Cochran, GA., December 18 - Today at 12:30 o'clock John H. Neel shot and killed P.M. Solomon. The shooting occurred in the most prominent part of the town, and it was all done so quickley and so quietly that half a dozen men standing around knew nothing of the shootin until it was all. The cause of the killing was the refusal of Neel to pay Solomon for some pluming the latter had done for him. Neel, as soon as he saw that he had killed Solomon, quietly put up his pistol and walked to his livery stable, which is located about a hundred yards from where the shooting occurred, secured a Winchester rifle, saddled and bridled a horse, and jumping on it, made his escape.
