    2. Martha Wooten Solomon
    3. Greetings to list members, Please be patient with me on answering e-mail. It has been very busy and I have had little time for genealogy. I should have time within two weeks since I am purchasing an early retirement and plan to catch up on research and data entry. Lee, did you get my message on your answering machine a couple of weeks ago? We did call when we were in Montgomery. Thanks, Martha Wooten Solomon List owner/host

    3. Gee...it's great to be getting Solomon letters again. Congratulations on your early retirement, Martha Wooten Solomon! You are going to enjoy all the wonderful free hours! Is anyone on the list researching the family of John G. Solomon? He married Sarah whom we think was a Godbold. I have info on their children, etc., but it would be wonderful to find John G.'s parents and a resource for Sarah's maiden name. Were they from Richmond County, N. Car., as were so many of their friends? 3. Hello Nieca, Yes, I am a Michigan native, right in your back yard, Charlevoix. Most of the Solomons in Port Huron are related to Leon Solomon whom is my Uncle. That leg of the family is one I haven't had the time to do much research on yet, lots and lots of cousin's there. Thanks for the info, I'll check it out soon. Al Solomon, (Sol)

    2. Le Bateman
    3. Hello For those who are interested in the FINCH Line, Delilah's second marriage. She married Freeman FINCH in 1821 and they had William C., William F. Jr., Floyd, and according to the book Finch Family of Dixie, several daughters which married Land's. The book is by Ruby Finch, now she has a married name but I cannot recall if it is Brown or what. It is out of print you can get it on microfilm at the FHC. Freeman's father was Claiborne, and his father Edward they came from Nash County North Carolina Tar River Region. I am right now trying to connect them with John Finch, Lord Finch of Fordwick England. 2. Hi, I read your message to the Solomon list re Owen, s/o of Levi. There was a Levi Solomon in New Jersey that may pan out for you. Check the archives of the Solomon list (use Levi as the search name). I corresponded with a descendent from this family for a while and I think you will find the info in the archives. If not, let me know and I'll dig what I have out of my files. This Levi was born @1760-1770, but your Levi may have been a descendent. There has been some confusion about Levi's family. He is shown in some records as the son of Jonas which I believe to be the case. Let me know if you hit a brick wall. Good Luck! Nieca Sharrard P.S. My huband and family are from MI, originally Port Huron, then Indian River (tiny town @45 minutes south of the Mackinaw Bridge. Are you a Michigan native??.

    3. Forwarded by Martha Wooten Solomon: My name is Lila Coley and I have joined your mailing list to tell you about the Texas Migrations site at http://homepages.go.com/~lc123/migrations/index1.html This is a wonderful new resource that will be cataloging the migrations of our ancestors. The main page for this project is http://www.migrations.org/ and there you will find links to migrations sites for every state. Data posted to the Migrations Project can be searched by name or location making it a great place to contact others who are researching your family names. I do hope each of you will visit the project and submit your family data and that at least one of you will decide to be the host for this county. If you are interested in hosting, please visit http://www.migrations.org/graphics/faq.htm for more details, then contact me. coley@flash.net Thanks and happy hunting, Lila

    3. Hello, I am Albert Solomon of Michigan. I trace back to Wisconson as far as I can find so far. I know that my Grandfather was Owen Solomon(b.1868 WI?) son of Levi Solomon . Owen was married to Alma Toranto(b. 1872.) They moved to the GrandRapids,MI area appx. 1907from Wisconson Dells. Levi died in the Grands Rapids area to Manistee area, but I can't locate the specific area. From there they moved to Boyne City, MI and finally to Charlevoix, MI where they died. I have most of the family history from Owen on, but nothing from before, just know we are from German descent and have been in North America a while. If you might have more info or would like more info contact me at sol@mail.unnet.com Thank you,Sol.

    3. Greetings to all our list members, Sorry to not have been more active on the list, but I have other lines that I search. Recently, I purchased texts on the Paulk and Lott families, whose descendants are now basically in GA. Interestingly, I was not expecting to find the Solomon family in these texts. However, it seems that Godwin Solomon's wife, Ava Jane Gaskins, is connected to these families. Several of Godwin's children also married into these families. I will be glad to do look-ups in these texts, upon request. We do have a number of new members. Therefore, I would like to request that our members post their lines to the list. You are also welcome to post information at the Solomon Resource page at Roots Web. URL is: http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/s/o/SOLOMON/ Scroll down until you encounter Queries, Bible records, etc. You are welcome to post information or sent it to me and I will post it and give you credit. Thanks, Dr. Martha Wooten Solomon List Owner/host
