Yes this is true, work I have exchanged over the years with others, is now out there with that persons name on it, for all the world to use for free. Why would anyone want to contact me and exchange information, or send me new information, they can find all they want about my family no strings attached on the internet or in the LDS files.. Those of us who have worked for years , and before computers know the hours, miles, and dollars we have invested. Last but not least, if it is not their work, they do not have a right to give it to others without per mission. That would seem to me to be good manners. I recently asked a person to take my personal family out of his internet web page, I reminded him he was not a member of that family line and that I was offended to have my personal information placed out for the world to see, and that indeed the information was not entirely correct. The fact that I had been married to someone before, was not in my file. so if appeared to someone reading the file that I had had two children before I married my now husband. He was not very happy about having to take my family branch out, he never asked my permission and had he done so I would not have agreed to him putting my work out for the world to use. To All Researchers, Be very careful who you swap information with. Some people who I have shared data with in the past, have submitted that data, including all my living relatives, to different sites. My immediate family is not very happy with me at the moment. Harold Solomon Deer Park, Texas
I thought I would repost this because some of you might not know where my SOLOMAN's were from. My line of the family spelled the name the way I have it in the subject line. Do not ask me why that is the way it appears on my greatgrandmother's marriage license. John SOLOMAN was born 3/Jan/1797 in Nashville Nash County North Carolina. The family moved to first Wilkinson County Ga. in 1800, then they were living in Twiggs in 1809. John married Rebewcca Sturdivant in Twiggs County Ga. in 1820 Mary R. , John Wesley, and James were born in Twiggs County by 1830 they were residing in Talbot County Ga. , where Henry F., Elizabeth, Frances A. H. and William L were born. By 1840 the family had removed to Marion County Ga. Sarah, Susan M., and Thomas Carey were born. By 1850 the family was residing in Clopton in Dale County. John Soloman died in Clopton Alabama 13/May/1879. My line however which is through John Wesley was still in Georgia. He was born in Twiggs County 27/Jun/1822 married Elizabeth Covington 16/May/1849 in Muskogee County Ga. Elizabeth's family was from Pike County Ga. but had moved to Marion by 1840. Marion County was where John Wesley and Elizabeth's first son Emmett was born in 1851, by 1860 the family was living in Montgomery County Alabama. he died in Seale Alabama 16/May/1901. John Wesley's son John Thomas was living in Henry County Alabama after his marriage to Laura Emma Price in Florida in 1879. Emma Price was a resident of Abbeville Henry Co. Al. My greatgrand-mother Mamie Elizabeth Soloman was born in Headland Alabama in 11/Jan/1883 the daughter of John Thomas Soloman and Laura Emma Price, she married Walter Bragg Oates (whose father was a resident of Abbeville and Headland, he was the town of Headland's first Mayor) at her father's residence 1/Feb/1903 she died 11/Apr/1969, and is buried in the Headland Methodist Cemetery. Hope this clears up where my family came from and ended up. _____NetZero Free Internet Access and Email______ http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html
Mamie Elizabeth SOLOMAN was my mother's grandmother OATES. Her parents were John Thomas SOLOMAN and Laura Emma PRICE. Mamie's siblings were Eva PRICE CARROLL, Emmett Curtis SOLOMAN, Ralph SPORMAN SOLOMAN, Emma Kate SOLOMAN, William SOLOMAN, Robert E., SOLOMAN, and Corine SOLOMAN. I have information on my greatgrandmother and aunt Eva, but do not have information on the rest, not dates at least. I have the names of the wives and children, but that is all if someone is working on these families please email. William died in 1896 the year he was born. I have the list of John Thomas's siblings for anyone. Le _____NetZero Free Internet Access and Email______ http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html
Hi All, I have heard of this book on the Person family, but have not seen it myself. The person that put the book together was not a Solomon researcher, so as in most cases such as this, they made mistakes. William Solomon b. 1785 in Franklin Co., NC d. 1845 Lincoln Co., TN. married Hartly Bridges b. 1791 Franklin Co., NC (Not England) , d. 1851 Lincoln Co., TN. William and Harty had children that migrated to DeSoto Co., MS. Three of their sons married daughters of Henry Joyner and Cynthia Gardner Persons. The book refers to one of these sons as John Randolph Solomon, who in fact was John Rhea Solomon, who was named for his father's friend and neighbor John Rhea. One of John Rhea Solomon's sisters married a son of this same John Rhea. John Rhea Solomon always signed his name John R. and did have a son John Randolph. People have assumed that they had the same name. Harty Bridges was the daughter of William Braswell Bridges and Nancy Bell, and her family was active in the American Revolution. Greetings from hot Florida, We have a resource page for the list at http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/s/o/SOLOMON/ If you have a web page with Solomon family genealogy information, please send the URL and I will attempt to post your web page on our resource page. When viewing this page, you will need to scroll down to find the web pages. They are located in two places. One place if for web pages at Roots Web and one for pages at other locations. You can try to enter your own page URL, but I think that my password is needed to enter most pages. I will be glad to do this for you. I had previously entered wills, etc. and could not find any of these today. But, you are welcome to post wills, etc. on the resource page. Or you can send them to me and I will post them for you. Thanks, Martha W. Solomon
Family members, Please note this change of e-mail address for me. [dr.martha@home.com] Thanks, Martha Wooten Solomon
FYI...this was received from another researcher: California births from 1905-1995 and deaths from 1940-1997 are online. http://www.CyndisList.com/ca.htm#Records You can search by various methods, including soundex, county, first name and father's last name, date, etc. You may be able to fill in missing dates, names, etc. If you have California relatives that you want data on, you may want to use this source now. It is only a matter of time before this source disappears. Really, it has too much data on living people. A con artist could use it to take someone else's idenity, because it has the name, date of birth, place of birth and mother's maiden name. Thanks, Martha
Hi Solomon researchers, I'd like to throw a William and Frances Solomon into the pot. My William was born Franklin Co., NC 8 Feb 1801. He was the son of Bennett Solomon and Ava McGregor. I think Bennett died in Montgomery Co., NC, but his family along with his brothers Goodwin, Jordan and William came on to TN. I don't have anything on William except that he married a Frances. William (mine) settled in Lincoln Co., TN. Jordan being a Baptist Preacher, was all over TN. Ava McGregor Solomon was buried in Warren Co., TN. I'm not sure of Goodwin, but their was a Goodwin Solomon in Granger Co. that was the right age to be a possible son. In 1820 the Solomons listed as head of household were Jordan, and William in Lincoln Co. Oston (Alston) in Bedford Co. and Samuel in Robertson Co. Alston is thought to be a cousin to the above mentioned brothers and father to Samuel. In 1830 William Solomon of Sumner Co. shows up as a head of household. Can he be the son of Bennett? I am trying to find the children's names and dates of William Solomon and Susan Smith. William was the fourth child of Lazarus and Elizabeth Solomon. William was born 7 Dec 1792 in North Carolina. Any information on him and his family would be appreciated. Thanks, Rose
If anyone on the list has a copy of any of Lazarus Solomon (b. 1765, NC.) and Elizabeth Bedgood's 14 children please contact me. I have already posted their son Lewis Solomon's obit a few months ago. I would like to have an actual copy of any of their obituaries. But if you are not able to make a copy and send to me then I would be happy if you would send it by email think this would be a good thing for us to share with Lazarus and Elizabeth's descendants. Thanks, Rose
Hi...I would like to correspond with anyone who has info about John G. Solomon, born in 1797, in South Carolina, who married Sarah Godbold, born 1797, S. Car. John and Sarah are supposedly buried in the Solomon Cemetery, Monroe County Al. (Their names have not appeared on any list that I have found of the Solomon Cemetery????) I would like to learn John G's parents and siblings's names. Was his wife a Godbold? I have not found any evidence of her maiden name. Was she Ellender Godbold Wright's niece? Cousin? John and Sarah had at least ten children. I descend from their daughter Elizabeth Ann who married John W. Wright, son of Daniel and ellender godbold Wright. Any info about John G., Sarah and their family would be greatly appreciated. I am happy to share the info that I have. Freda Roberson Noble Freda and Ted Noble tnoble@mcn.org

The List has been quiet for a long time- Was wondering if anyone has found anything on Peter Solomon(born about 1736) father of James and Lazarus. Trying to find out if he was born in Va. or if not when he emigrated from England. Also still need to find his wife and parents. I understand there may be a book being written on Lazarus Solomon I would certainly be interested in buying a copy-- although my ancestor is Lazarus' brother James(1770-1855). Thanks Ludell Solomon
