Thank you Caroline. I didn't know the Golden Grove was available on the internet. However, in this case it doesn't take me very much further forward. The page showing Cadifor, his son Bledri and grandson, Ifor (http://www.gtj.org.uk/en/large/item/GTJ08754/) refers you on to page 34 (http://www.gtj.org.uk/en/large/item/GTJ08787) for Ifor. Unfortunately only one son is listed for him and his descendants do not correspond to the names I have. Intriguingly, however, the 4th entry on the page appears to refer to the Lord of Gwerntllwg (?) and gives a location of Troedrar. The latter must certainly be Troed-yr-aur, where my ancestor John Enoch came from. And Gwerntllwg is pretty certainly Wernlogws. John Enoch's grandfather was Dafydd Hywel, described as the bard of Wernlogws. Apparently, in Welsh, Wernlogws becomes Gwernlogws in some grammatical contexts. So has anybody got any ideas on how to take this further? -- Dr Peter Borrows Amersham, Bucks.
