Walt, I agree with you that the name is Vasthi. In the first instance it appears to be written Vasthae and in the second Vasthie. Somewhere on the Family Search website there is a very good tutorial for OE handwriting, although you don't seem to be having too much trouble with it. There's also an excellent one on the National Archive website.
