There is some information in Maurice Bond, Guide to the Records of Parliament (HMSO 1971), especially pp.172-173. The gist is that tens of thousands of petitions were presented over the years, but most of the originals have been destroyed, though some have been randomly preserved and are indeed in the House of Lords Record Office. There may have been a similar petition to the Commons, but Commons petitions before 1834 were destroyed in the 1834 fire.
