Further to my email of 7 November, I must apologise for wasting people's time. When I tried again, the LDS Viewer *did* in fact install itself, but it was slow to start, to the extent that nothing at all seemed to be happening for some time. Given that XP is generally so much faster than Win95 thatI used before, this was unexpected: I clearly should have had more patience when I tried the first time :(- . Sorry to those who took the trouble to make helpful suggestions. -- Denys Wells Using RISCube, running RISCOS on WindowsXP
If you are in doubt of how to access Origins as a member go to http://www.originsnetwork.com/help/popup-aboutbo-sog.htm and follow the advise given please. PS you will have to enable pop-ups for this website. For clarification - only the SoG datasets (indicated by the SoG logo) are included in the Member's 72 hour free access per quarter so keep quiet about any bonus. If you want access to the other datasets please sign up with origins (and the same applies to ancestry.co.uk) from the affiliates link on www.sog.org.uk - you pay the same but SoG gets the affiliate fee.
