    3. Forgive a slightly off-topic question... but SOG members have such a wide collective experience of using archives... Does anyone know where I might find comtemporary weather records for New York State on a specific day in 1777? I believe there may be Royal Naval vessel weather logs at Kew - but have any archive/diary/record office specialists got any other ideas? David Wason

    3. Always a good idea to try the people who should know, or at least know where to find it. There must be someone at the University of Washington Department of Atmospherics, e.g. http://www.atmos.washington.edu/ Failing that, her are another 300 odd America weather sites to look into. http://cirrus.sprl.umich.edu/wxnet/servers.html Peter Amsden, Argyll, Scotland ASAT Productions: http://www.asat.biz Researching Amsden World Wide Outline History: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~amsden Books I have written: http://www.btinternet.com/~amsden AllExperts: http://www.allexperts.com/displayExpert.asp?Expert=38044 Never dump originals - they may be all that is left after the computer age. > From: "David Wason" <wason@dial.pipex.com> > Reply-To: SOG-UK-L@rootsweb.com > Date: Sun, 27 Feb 2005 15:48:58 -0000 > To: SOG-UK-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [SoG] Old weather records > Resent-From: SOG-UK-L@rootsweb.com > Resent-Date: Sun, 27 Feb 2005 08:49:11 -0700 > > Forgive a slightly off-topic question... but SOG members have such a wide > collective experience of using archives... > > Does anyone know where I might find comtemporary weather records for New > York State on a specific day in 1777?
