I am contemplating retirement from a very demanding full time employment in 2 years time and am planning to spend some of my retirement time persuing my lifelong amatuer interest in genealogy as a profession. I have studied the qualifications available from the Institute of of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies and also have seen references to the Board of Certification for Genealogists in the USA. Is anyone aware of a UK "certification" or an alternative UK qualification to that offered by the IHGS? Any information or advice would be much appreciated.
