I think it's something to do with the conversion from the LDS data. The 1881, as processed by the LDS, notoriously produced a list of county names omitting the "shire". If you search with "Lincoln*" in the Parish Birthplace rather than County Birthplace field you may find what you're looking for. Ruth. You are correct! I knew that putting the shortened "Lincoln" into the county field also produced no results but I had not tried putting it into the Parish field. This does then give results for the whole county but there is then no way to further refine down to the parish name. So it is back to switching to the LDS site. Regards.
