I have been researching my family name [one name study] for the last 20 years and I am now in the process of writing the history of my direct family members all of whom come from West Yorkshire. The book will include, inter alia, four sections 1487-1620; 1620- 1803; 1803-1858 and 1859 to 2005. I am looking for one or more expert social historians who can be commissioned to write a social history covering the first three sections. If not can you suggest where I might look? Many thanks Brian Beanland
As a first step, try the appropriate local historical society/societies. Most have at least a small nucleus of core members who are extremely knowledgeable about certain aspects of their local history, and will doubtless know of similar members of other societies in the district or region who may well welcome the possibility of collaborating with you on this. Good luck - from someone with Lancastrian ancestry!
