I agree with Gordon, the passing of SOG Computers is rather sad - but that's progress. I think. Like Gordon, I also wonder what is really the point in purchasing a CD that contains vast amounts of information that we will never need. Taken to extremes, it is rather like having the complete set of BMD or IGI fiches in your front room. Unless you are researching the entirety of the UK there is little point. On-line information has to be the real answer, even if we need to spend some cash each time we make use of it. If we buy a CD we extract the info and then it sits on the shelf. My own case in point was acquiring the British 1881 Census and Index. Having extracted any useful information it now gathers dust. We can't even do look-ups for others because of copyright.
