In my case, Outlook 2003 replies only to the List whether I use Reply or Reply-All. GMail appears to see something extra compared to Outlook 2003, which can't see the original address at all, meaning that Digest mode is totally useless except in responding to the list. Rootsweb should be catering to "everyone" not just some software - I am certainly not handing my mail over to Google (quite aside from the fact that I consider GMail in a browser to be visually appalling - but that's my personal view).
