Thank you John Yes there does appear to be an open Government licence to use the TNA information (with attribution) see;- http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/2/ However it does say "This licence does not cover: personal data in the Information;" I imagine that with the 100 year rule in place on publication of censusses it would be reasonable to assume that the "personal data" in a Census has ceased to be personal & has become "historic"........
