Yes, it would be nice to have a list in the 'private' Members section of the website where we could add names of ancestors we are researching, at least put a name to those with similar interests. A number of Family History Societies have Members Interests either open to the public with just an email address, or give membership number to apply to the Registrar for contact, or closed to the public but give name and address/email address. I belong to five FHSs plus the Guild of One-Name Studies all of whom have their own online facility to contact other members regarding Interests in various forms. Most print a list of new members in their Journals and it seems usual that those who require further privacy can either use a P.O. Box number or be contacted via a member of the FHS Committee.
