    3. The British firm, TWR Computing, which used to supply and support TMG is no longer doing so. The UK version of TMG has recently been updated by Wholly Genes and I have always found the support I have received from the States to be first class - even to the extent of them 'phoning me on occasions. I would suggest John you get TMG direct from the States as I have done. 3. I would agree with David Henwood that support for TMG from Wholly Genes in the USA is second to none. From my early days as a user I received first class support, including personal phone calls from the President of the company shortly after I had posted a query on the mailing list or support forum. I felt so grateful for this excellent customer service that I declined their offer of payment for my work on the UK version of the software back in 2004. 3. I have always obtained my UK version from the USA and their support has been first class. I find the product excellent for what I need. 3. Thanks to you all for your constructive comments and suggestions. It does seem to be a matter of personal appeal, so though it is time consuming I'll get trial versions of the ones you recommend. Efficiency at importing events, sources and notes is an important consideration: TMG, which I have been using for several years, is particularly good at this but I am still sorting out input queries. If there is sufficient interest perhaps SOG could arrange an (annual ?) event where the leading packages could be demonstrated and features compared. I'm sure the suppliers would subsidise it. I realised how dated TMG had become when I saw a demonstration of Family Tree Maker. Perhaps that is why TWR Computing have withdrawn support. John Mitchelmore
