Just to add to Jeanne's answer, the National Archives get around £50m a year from the Government to cover its operating costs. And the Society gets almost nothing, we are not even allowed to claim gift-aid tax recovery on our subscriptions. > Well I guess this is a step in the > right direction and indeed goes one better with a degree of > interactivity which must be welcomed. 3. TNA are looking to collaborate more closely with external organisations, and start to share some of their technology that's funded with taxpayers money. It might be worth discussing the possibility of doing some joint (or TNA hosted) webinars in the future. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim Powys-Lybbe" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2011 12:31 AM Subject: Re: [SOG-UK] Web lecture On 3 Aug at 9:13, [email protected] wrote: > I was thrilled to read Alex Trittons post re this new way the society > has for delivering lecturers. 3. I am on holiday but it is interesting to note that prior to the first very successful test webinar (with someone living in Bermuda as part of the audience), a prominent member of TNA audience delivery team was asking US how we were doing it! Perhaps they should pay us part of their many millions as a consultancy fee! Look out for the first "real" webinar later this month Regards to all from a very sunny Devon - that's liquid sunshine by the way Alec Sent from my iPhone On 16 Aug 2011, at 09:13, "Nick Barratt" <[email protected]> wrote: > TNA are looking to collaborate more closely with external organisations, and > start to share some of their technology that's funded with taxpayers money. > It might be worth discussing the possibility of doing some joint (or TNA > hosted) webinars in the future. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Tim Powys-Lybbe" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2011 12:31 AM > Subject: Re: [SOG-UK] Web lecture > > > On 3 Aug at 9:13, [email protected] wrote: > >> I was thrilled to read Alex Trittons post re this new way the society >> has for delivering lecturers.
