Sargent, 83, 2424 Bank Street who died July 28 in a Bakersfield rest home. Officiating will be the Rev. Arthur E. Bomers of the First Congregational Church and William F. Bartenstein, worshipful master of the Libertas Lodge 466 F&AM. Cremation will be in the Bakersfield Memorial Park Crematory. The deceased was a native of St. Paul, Minn. and had lived in Bakersfield the past 55 years and in California 75 years. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Libertas Lodge 466 F&AM. Survivors include a son, Arthur W. Sargent, Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy (Ferneley) Roberts, both of Bakersfield; 6 grandchildren, William P., Robert A., and Linda Jo Sargent, Ferneley H., Bonita L, and Beverly A.
