Trusty, one of the really "nice guys" of Tehachapi, was laid to rest Tuesday afternoon in the Tehachapi District Cemetery following services at 2 p.m. in the Masonic Temple, Masonic Lodge 313 of Tehachapi conducted the services for the 67-year-old res- (sic) Mr. Trusty passed away Saturday evening in Tehachapi Hospital where he had been confined with a heart condition. Ray, as he was known to his friends, was born in Salyersville, Ky., and came to California 35 years age. He moved to Bakersfield in 1943, where he was married to the former Velda Wall on June 25, 1947. In 1950, the Trustys moved to Tehachapi where they operated the bowling alley and restaurant. Later they purchased the restaurant that carried their name, and a year ago sold the business and were operating the Mountain Lanes Coffee Shop at the time of his death. Mr. Trusty was a member of the Bakersfield Scottish Rite, Al Malaikah of Los Angeles Shrine, Eastern Star, Lions Club, Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, Square and Compass, Tehachapi Enterprises, Culinary Workers, and the Golden Hills Country Club. Survivors include the widow, Velda; a stepson, Dennis Heinz, and two step-grandchildren of Bakersfield. Pallbearers will be Edward L. Tompkins, Kelcy Owens, Wayne Warner, Claude Wells, John Smith, Vaughn Squires and Richard Davis. Contributions may be made to the Ray Trusty Memorial Fund in care of the First Western Bank in Tehachapi. Stickel Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Sharon Kern Co Volunteer
