He was a California native son. He retired from Mobil Oil Company after 45 years and served 25 years as a sheriff's Reserve Deputy. Russell was a member o the Eagles Aerie #93 F.O.E. for 70 years. He is survived by his wife, Essie Bowen; his daughters-in-law, Emilie Butterfield and Judy Bowen Manning; stepson, Robert Robison; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
