I would assume that the disposition was completely at the discretion of the surviving party in carrying out the deceased's last wishes. On the many DC transcriptions I have done with cremation as the disposition of the body, it generally states the ashes were removed to; giving a name and/or at least an address, unless they were depositied in the crematorium's inurnment section. If nothing is stated, I would begin my search at the crematorium indicated on the DC. Heaven knows different counties do things differently! Not to mention different practices throughout time........
