POPE DOROTHY MARIE born: 10/04/1913 F OKLAHOMA father: BLACKMON died: KERN 08/04/1989 age: 75 yrs requested by: [email protected] The Arvin Tiller, Wednesday, August 9, 1989 Dorothy POPE Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1989, in the Assembly of God Church, Arvin, Calif., for Dorothy M. Pope, 75, of Arvin, who died Friday, Aug. 4, in a convalescent hospital. The Rev. Fred Cruse, a long time family friend, officiated. Interment follow in the Arvin District Cemetery. Dorothy was born in Marrietta, Oklahoma. She worked as the cafeteria supervisor for the Arvin School District for 15 years. She retired in 1872. She was a resident of Arvin for 40 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and a faithful worker in the ladies' ministries. Dorothy was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Dutton in 1939, and Bill Pope in 1969, and a daughter, Ann Hebert in 1988. She is survived by two sons, Russell of Washington and Edgar of Florida; three daughters, Wilma Ross and Doylene Brown, both of Bakersfield, Mildred Randell of Washington; three brothers, Harold of Crescent, Okla., Earl Dean of Oklahoma City and David of Washington; a sister, Jean Johnston of Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
