The Rev. J. Boyd Wolverton of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Herod was a native of Big Pine and had lived in Kern County 76 years. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the US Marine Corps. He had retired after working for the Western Gulf Oil Co. 21 years. Survivors include the widow Jean; a son, Harold of Bakersfield; and a brother, Roy of Hollywood.
