The minister of Church of Christ will officiate and interment will follow in Shafter Cemetery. Mr. Byrd was a native of Tennessee and had lived in Kern County 22 years. He is survived by his widow Freddie May; four sons, Floyd of Wasco, Earl of Shafter and Epo of Madera; one daughter, Bessie Sharp of Shafter; two brothers, Waldo Byrd of Oklahoma and Edd Parks of Shafter; one sister, Ann Kneeland of Long Beach; and 8 grandchildren.
