Pastor David Morris officiated and interment followed in Shafter Memorial Park. Sharp was born in Ada, Okla., on Sept. 4, 1926 to Ossie and Fredda Mae Byrd. In 1938 the family moved to Shafter where Dessie attended school and graduated from Shafter High School with the class of 1944. She married Vic Sharp of Shafter in 1944 and in 1961 they moved from Shafter to Wasco where she and Vic owned and operated Cinderella Motel and Restaurant for 15 years until their retirement in 1980. Prior to this they had also managed the Eden Rock Motel and Coffee Shop for 10 years. She was very active in the Church of Christ and was a Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband Vic who passed away March 24, 1988. Her surviving family include her daughter Denise Hulsey and her husband Terry of Visalia, daughter Sharon Sharp also of Visalia; brothers Floyd Byrd of Wasco and Cecil Byrd of Shafter and her grandchildren, Michael Hulsey and Thomas Hulsey, both of Visalia.
