Brother Wayne Owen will officiate and interment will follow in Shafter Cemetery. Mr. Spears, a native of Oklahoma had lived in Shafter and California the past 18 years. The pallbearers are Jim Reed, David Trout, Joy Allen, A. L. Hayes, Paris Walkeep and Calvin Cloud. The survivors include two sons, Wayne R. Spears of Shafter and Lebanon Spears of California; three daughters, Charlene Gates of Oregon, Olene Milan of Shafter, and Gracie Mairel of California; two brothers, Roy Spears of Texas and Dick Spears of Oklahoma; five sisters, Leona Simmons and Mary Nett both of Oklahoma, Florence Flanigan of Texas and Mildred Spears of New Mexico; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
