The Bakersfield Californian, Monday, September 16, 2002 Gale Barry Jones July 22, 1934 - August 26, 2002 A memorial service for Gale B. Jones will be held at the Eagles Aerie 93, on Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gale was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania to Walter Earl and Bermuda Valley "Bud" Jones. The family came to Bakersfield in May 1945. Gale attended Bakersfield High School, Bakersfield College, and Fresno State. In 1957 Gale went into the Navy as an active reserve and spent two years in Long Beach, CA. He married Letha Malone in March 1957. His daughter, Katherine was born in 1958 at Long Beach. The family returned to Bakersfield in 1959 where son John Walter was born. He is survived by his wife of 45 years; daughter, son, grandsons, Shawn Kinnaird, Dennis Kinnaird and wife Jennifer and great granddaughters, Madison and Kenady; also his brother, Walter C. Jones and wife Julia of Bakersfield; his sister, Sandra and husband James Hasler of Saugus, CA and nieces and nephews and their families. Gale worked many years as a grocery clerk and was also a beekeeper. He was a hard working man who shared what he had with others. He was a fourteen gallon donor at Houchin Blood Bank.
