Safford died July 14, 1912 [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) The Bakersfield Californian, Tuesday, July 16, 1912 To Be Buried On Return of Husband The funeral of Mrs. William Safford is pending the arrival of her husband, who went to Missouri about one week ago to bring Mrs. Safford's parents here to reside. Mrs. Safford was apparently well when her husband started east, but a day or so later was taken ill and grew gradually worse until death came Sunday at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Safford had resided in East Bakersfield 14 years and leaves a host of friends to mourn her loss. Her sister, Mrs. H. Wilkerson of Fresno and niece, Mrs. Grace Russell of Tulare, were with her when she passed away. The remains are at the parlors of Morton & Connelly and the services will be held from the Methodist Church, East Bakersfield. Notice of the funeral will appear later. The Bakersfield Californian, Thursday, July 18, 1912 Funeral of Mrs. Safford Held Today The funeral of Mrs. William Safford was held this morning. Rev. West officiated. There were many excellent floral pieces from many of the friends who had known Mrs. Safford in life. The pallbearers were M.F. Warren, O.V. McClure, J.P. Turner, H.C. Sims, M. Lyons, J.P.
