A news article for the archives - on the same page as an article about one of my family: From The Los Angeles Times, March 11, 1919: "ACCIDENT VICTIM DIES - - Two Women in Auto Hit by Car May Also Not Survive - - James Karle, 20 years old, a shipyard worker living at 1331 West Seventeenth street, this city, died at the Pasadena Hospital yesterday. He was one of four young persons injured when an automobile was struck and wrecked by a Pacific Electric car at Oneonta station on Sunday - - Mr. Karle and his sister, Lydia Karle, 19, were accompanying Helen Hansen, 15, to her home at 251 North Craig street, Pasadena. The auto was driven by Owen F. Snyder. The street car motorman reported that Shyder turned directly in front of the car, apparently not seeing it. - - Karle died soon after his removal to the Pasadena Hospital, and there is little hope for the recovery of the young women."
