Mrs. Rains, a resident of that community for the past 3 years, passed away Saturday in a Bakersfield hospital. The Reverend Sam Wilcoxen of the Independent Orthodox Missionary Baptist Church in Shafter officiated, with burial following in Hanford cemetery. In addition to her husband, Arch Rains, surviving relatives include her father, Ike Wheat of Corcoran; two sons, Ramon and Calvin Rains; two daughters, Elva Lee and Mamie Lou Rains, all of Shafter; two brothers, Andy wheat of Coalinga and Harvey wheat of Visalia and a sister, Mrs. Furman Steele of Shafter.
