Underwood, 59, will be held in the chapel of the H. R. Borgsdorf Mortuary Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Edwin L. Kopper, pastor of the Assembly of God Church will officiate and interment will follow in the VFW plot of Union Cemetery. Underwood was born in Muldrow, Okla., and was a resident of Arvin for 14 years. He lived at 549 Meyers St., and was a veteran of World War I. He died April 8 in a Bakersfield hospital following a lengthy illness. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jewel Dean Dondren of Bakersfield; 2 sons, Laebert of Bakersfield and Buel of Wasco; his mother, Mrs. Ida Underwood of Arvin, 2 sisters, Mrs. Millie Satterfield of Arvin and Mrs. Ora Gibson of Redlands; 7 brothers, Bob and Les of Arvin, Tom of Port Chicago, Joe of Venice, Ray of Visalia, Bethel of Torrance and Lynn of Anchorage, Alaska; 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
