Pastor Douglas Samples of The First Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Mr. Forehand passed away December 23, 1996 in Bakersfield. He was born November 3, 1912 at Campbellton, TX. He worked for a Texaco Truck Stop when he met and married Sarah Ellen Henry in Jourdanton, on September 7, 1935. He migrated to California during the depression working as a farm laborer. He found a job at Rio Bravo School District and worked as a School Bus Driver and Head Custodian for 33 years. He retired when his wife Sarah became ill with cancer and died on February 21, 1979. He remarried to Dortha on August 24, 1979. Lanham enjoyed working on woodworking projects and making furniture. He is survived by his wife Dortha; 5 children, Claudette & Bobbie Rogers of Oakton, VA, Sharell & Keith Russon of Glenns Ferry, ID, Harold & Linda Forehand of Bakersfield, CA Terrill & Linda Forehand of Shafter, CA and Arleen & Jerry Smith of England; stepchildren, Mona & Burton Ellison, David & Teena Herron and Larry Herron; 11 grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren; brother, Orem Wyatt Forehand, Alice Gertrude Hamilton and Dollie Beatrice Bradshaw all of TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
