B6 Stabbing victim identified: The victim of a fatal stabbing in East Bakersfield Friday night has been identified as Thurman Dean Jones, 39, 706 E. 21st St., Room 26, police reported Saturday. Officers found Jones lying in the street near the north alley of the 600 block of East 21st Street about 10 p.m. He had been stabbed in the chest, police said. Late Friday, authorities had said Jones' throat had been slashed and he had several stab wounds elsewhere on his body. Police are still searching for the assailant, a man believed to be 20 to 25 years old who was last seen fleeing from the 21st Street alley on foot.
