YATES Graveside services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the West Side Cemetery District for Mark Anthony Yates, 22, of 329 Moose, Tupman, who died this weekend in a Taft hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1958 in Bakersfield to Orbin and Margaret Yates. His family lived in Tupman and he attended local schools there. He attended Taft Union High School for a time before a heart condition forced him to limit his travel and activities. After leaving high school, he became a partner in the family business, Yates Brothers Mechanical. On Feb. 17, 1975 he married the former Arva Coffee, of Tupman in Utah, and after a honeymoon there, they returned to Tupman to make their home. In addition to his wife Arva, he is survived by a son, Mark Chester Yates; a daughter, Sarah Jean Yates, all of Tupman; four brothers, Orbin H. Yates of Garden Grove, Orvin Chester Yates of Tupman, Gayle Yates of Porterville, and Gordon W. Yates of Anaheim; and several uncles and aunts. He was preceeded in death by his parents. Rev. Boyd Shepherd, former pastor of the church of God in Tupman, will officiate in the morning services. Friends who wish to pay their respects may call this evening at the Taft Funeral Home.
