The Rev. Ronald C. Bennett of the Messiah Lutheran Church officiated. Mr. Rittershaus was born in New Jersey and had resided in kern County for 10 years. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 26. Mr. Rittershaus is survived by his widow, Anna; a son, Charles W. of New York; a brother, Herman of Tucson, Ariz.; 2 sisters, Margaret Miller of Detroit, Mich., and Elsie Morgan of San Francisco; and 3 grandchildren.
