K Street, Bakersfield for Rev. Nettie May Boen, who passed away August 28 after a long illness. Rev. Ray J. Smith, Rev. Kenny Forman and Rev. Norman Fortenberry will officiate with interment in Shafter Cemetery. Nettie was a native of Oklahoma and moved to Bakersfield in 1938. She was a minister for 25 years and last pastored the Christian Assembly Pentcostal Church of God before her death. Her family and her church were her life. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Everett L. Boen of Bakersfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sharon Boen of Oildale, Jerry and Valerie Boen of Washington; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Rev. Kenneth Seale of San Jose, Sharon and Rev. Dale Howard of Bakersfield, Nelda and Calvin Combs of Bakersfield, Patricia and Rev. Roy Spinks of Sunnyvale, and Bonnie June and George Taylor of Bakersfield; her twin brother, Eddie Major Horton of Mississippi and Hillis Ray Horton of Wasco; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Rev. Clifton Boen of Bakersfield, Virginia and Rev. Frank Thompson of Texas and Bonnie Thomas of Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
