    3. Welcome to Daylight Savings Time! Here's an update to April activities at the Southern California Genealogical Society. Our 37th Annual Genealogy Jamboree is only a month away. The early-bird registration deadline has been extended to April 20, and yes, tickets are still available for the Friday night banquet with Bill Dollarhide's keynote on "Cemetery Crawlin'." If you haven't reserved your spot yet, do it now. It's going to be a GREAT Jamboree. Register online at www.scgsgenealogy.com. Of special interest this month are Beverly Truesdale's Beginning Genealogy classes (April 6, 13, 20 and 27), the Lunch and Learn session on FamilySearch.org, and the German and DNA Interest group meetings (April 15 and April 29 respectively). We'll also be holding our second Kids Genealogy Camp, for young researchers in grades 4-12, on April 23. This is a great program and a terrific way to introduce your children or grandchildren to this fascinating activity. Bring a brown-bag lunch. April 8 12noon Lunch and Learn Everything You Wanted to Know, And Some Things You Didn't Know You Wanted to Know, about FamilySearch.com" Presenter: Bonnie Petrovich The FamilySearch.org website, the free genealogical website operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), is one of the most valuable resources available to family history researchers. Bonnie Petrovich, Director of the Valencia, California, Regional Family History Center, will help you navigate the site and help you find the hidden treasures. She will also cover the Family History Library Catalog Online. The SCGS Library will be open for research following Bonnie's presentation so our patrons can put these useful tips to immediate use. Lunch & Learn sessions are free and open to the public. Bring a brown-bag lunch at noon. Learn at 1pm. April 23 10am-2pm Kids' Genealogy Camp Bring a brown-bag lunch and get a hands-on introduction to a fascinating exploration of your family's past. Learn the proper way to research, record your sources, and learn about your ancestors' lives. Open to the public at no charge. Children must be accompanied by an adult. April 29 10am-2pm DNA Interest Group This meeting will feature a round table discussion of this exciting new way of breaking down long-standing brick walls and connecting up with new found cousins. Alice Fairhurst will moderate the discussion and tell you about her recent success story in sorting out her Raymond lines. Bring your success stories to share and your questions about anything related to genetic genealogy. Join us for pizza lunch or brown bag it. Want to join the DNA process?
