Owens Sr., 67, who died Aug. 26. The Rev. John May , pastor of First Baptist Church of Oildale, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Sam Wilcox. Mr. Owens was born in Bonham, Tex., and resided in Kern County for the past 35 years. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the International Order of Forresters and the Baptist Church. For many years he was the manager of Buck Owens Enterprises in Bakersfield. Survivors include the widow, Malcie; 2 daughters, Mary E. McKinney, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dorothy Owens, Bakersfield ; a son, Alvis E. "Buck" Owens Jr., Bakersfield; 2 brothers, Richard, Bakersfield and Elmore, Mesa, Ariz.; 2 sisters, Dee Bounds, Sherman, Tex., and Louella Wooten, Waukegan, Ill, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerry Wiggins, Don Lee, Ronnie Jackson, Jim Shaw, Doyle Singer and Terry Christopherson. Donations may be made to the Cancer Center of Memorial Hospital in memory of Mr. Owens.
